Extremely proud to be receiving a Be Tamworth award.

Friday, 24th April 2015

TAMWORTH Informed are extremely proud to have been notified that we are receiving a ‘Be Tamworth’ award from the Mayor.

Unfortunately Cllr Richard Kingstone, the current Mayor of Tamworth will cease to be Mayor on May 26th and will hand over the reigns his my successor.

He now wishes to have a last minute push for nominations for a ‘Be Tamworth’ award, something that was created during his reign.

Residents can put themselves forward and also nominate others to receive a ‘Be Tamworth’ pin badge; something Cllr Kingstone says will be a conversation starter.

Whether it’s saving a person’s life or collecting a newspaper for a neighbour, people can be awarded for anything positive.

Speaking to Tamworth Informed today, Cllr Kingstone said: “One of the highlights of the year has been to award well over 300 Tamworth citizens with Be Tamworth awards.

“I really don’t want to miss any resident or business out who Tamworth Informed readers think may be deserving of an award. After May 26th when I retire the Be Tamworth awards will cease to be given out.

“So I am planning two more final award nights in early May to enable me to meet and recognise the achievements of our very special residents.

“To nominate someone to receive a Be Tamworth badge readers simply have to make contact with me and say why the person they are nominating is that little bit special. I can be reached by email (richard-kingstone@tamworth.gov.uk) or written to at The Mayor of Tamworth, Marmion House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth, Staffordshire.

“Readers need to hurry as time is running out.”
