Essential Hollies will celebrate great music from a great band

July 8, 2015

THE music of one of Britain’s most successful bands will be celebrated during a swinging two-hour show at Tamworth Assembly Rooms this month.

Essential Hollies on Saturday, July 18 will see one of the UK’s top tribute acts The Hollywood Bees paying homage to a band which has had more hits than The Beatles, with a warm and nostalgic show featuring songs from The Hollies’ early years, as well as some of the music which influenced them.

Now in their fifth year and with a collective 10,000 performances under their belts, The Hollywood Bees will delight audiences with timeless hits; reproducing the unmistakable harmonies which made The Hollies unique. The five-piece band also performs a remarkable acoustic tribute to Crosby, Stills and Nash.

With a career spanning five decades, the original Hollies have countless classics to their name, including Just One Look, He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother, The Air That I Breathe and Bus Stop, with major hits on both sides of the Atlantic.

They are one of the few British pop groups of the early 1960s that have never officially broken up and continue to record and perform today. They were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recognition of their achievements in 2010.

The new show by The Hollywood Bees will bring a taste of that success to Tamworth and is sure to have audiences singing in their seats with catchy hits from one of the greatest musical decades of all time.

Tickets are priced at £16.50, or £15 in advance, and are available online at, in person from Tamworth Tourist Information Centre in Corporation Street or by calling the Box Office on 01827 709618. A £1 transaction fee is payable on all online and telephone bookings.
