TAM WORTH Borough Council is encouraging anyone not yet registered to vote get registered online.

Voters in Tamworth will go to the polls on Thursday May 5 to elect 10 councillors to Tamworth Borough Council, as well as a Police & Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire.

But anyone who isn’t registered to vote will not be able to take part and have their say in the democratic process.

The deadline for registering to vote in the May elections is Monday April 18. It only takes a few minutes to register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

John Wheatley, Electoral Registration Officer for Tamworth Borough Council, said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should sign up as soon as possible so that they can have their say on issues which affect their day-to-day lives. I would urge people living in Tamworth to use the National Voter Registration Drive to spread the message among family and friends that it only takes a few minutes to complete the form and register to vote online.”

Tamworth residents who would prefer to register with a paper copy of the form are asked to contact the Elections Office on 01827 709262 or 709264.
