Has a member of staff from your local hospital gone above and beyond the call of duty to care for you and provide reassurance and help?
The Trust that runs Queen’s Hospital in Burton – and the community hospitals in Lichfield and Tamworth – is calling on members of the public to nominate their ‘unsung hero’ for a special award to be given out next month (Feb 2015).
Awards co-ordinator Joy Borrington said: “We know that lots of good work takes place in and around the three hospitals that make up Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust every day of the year.
“We want to hear from anyone who would like to nominate someone who has helped them during the last 12 months for our Unsung Hero Award at the Trust’s annual staff achievement awards taking place at Burton’s Pirelli Stadium on 27 February.”
Trust employees working in any role at one of the three hospitals are eligible to be nominated. The key thing is that they have made a positive difference to the patient experience and deserve public recognition.
The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 14 January and they can be made by email, to firstname.lastname@example.org, or by letter to Joy Borrington, WBL Facilitator, L&D Department, Queen’s Hospital, Belvedere Road, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire DE13 0RB. Explain how your unsung hero made a difference to you or your family and why they deserve to be singled out for praise.
