Did you witness Lichfield collision in which pensioner died

Police in Lichfield are appealing for witnesses following a collision on Eastern Avenue, Lichfield, at 3.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.

A blue Fiat Brava was travelling towards the A51 when it was in collision with a silver Peugeot 107 travelling in the opposite direction.

Sadly the driver of the Fiat, an 81-year-old man from Lichfield, died in the early hours of Thursday morning at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield. He has yet to be formally identified.

Specially trained officers are supporting the man’s family at this difficult time.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway. Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 385 of September 24.
