THE deadline for members of the public to submit their questions to be put to town leaders at this year’s Tamworth Listens Question Time event has been extended until Sunday January 22nd.
The event – which is the fourth Tamworth Listens event – is taking place at Landau Forte Academy, Amington on Thursday January 26th, when a panel made up of representatives from Tamworth Borough Council will be answering your questions.
It will be chaired by Mike Thomas of TCR FM and will be based on the Council’s three strategic priorities; living a quality life in Tamworth, growing strong together in Tamworth and delivering quality services in Tamworth.
The panel will consist of five members of the Council’s Cabinet; Leader, Cllr Daniel Cook; Deputy Leader, Cllr Rob Pritchard and the Portfolio Holders for Communities & Wellbeing, Environment & Culture and Housing Services, Cllrs Stephen Doyle, Joy Goodall and Michelle Thurgood.
The theatre at Landau Forte Academy, Amington will open at 7pm and the Question Time event will start at 7.15pm and finish at 9.30pm.
TCR FM will be broadcasting live from the Question Time for the fourth year, so anyone not able to come along will be able to follow the debate. Tamworth Borough Council’s communications team will also be Tweeting live updates throughout the event. The Twitter handle is @TamworthCouncil and the hashtag we will be using on the night is #tamworthlistens
Tickets for the event are free of charge and can be obtained from Tamworth’s Information Centre, located in the Council offices, Marmion House, Lichfield Street. Tickets can also be obtained by emailing email@example.com, calling 01827 709618 / 709581 or texting TBCTIC with message to 88020 to reserve a ticket.
A limited number of 200 tickets is available for the Question Time event, which will be issued on a first come, first served basis.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Daniel Cook, said: “This event is part of our ‘Tamworth Listens’ initiative and I hope as many people as possible will attend. We want to know what people think about where they live and work and what we, as a council, can do to improve it.
“We are extending the deadline to give as many people as possible to submit their questions.”
