Tragedy as 92-year-old killed in Two Gates hit and run

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after a 92-year-old man died following a non-stop collision in Two Gates last night (Friday 21 December).

The man, from Tamworth, was struck by a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly a people carrier, at 10.45pm on Watling Street, near to the crossroads of Watling Street, Two Gates and Dosthill Road – close to Two Gates Club and the Bulls Head.

Sadly the man died at the scene.

His family have been informed and are currently being supported by specially-trained officers.

At this time, the identity of the man has not been released and we would ask that he is not named on our site until we are sure that everyone that needs to be informed is aware.
