A COLLISION this morning closed a busy road through the centre of Tamworth Town Centre.
The incident occurred shortly before 09:00GMT on Aldergate, between the junctions of Corporation Street and Lichfield Street / Church Street.
Traffic travelling south was initially being diverted along Corporation Street and Church Street but there is no access for vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
This incident had a knock-on effect on all traffic in the area of the Town Centre.
There are unconfirmed reports at this time that a pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle but there are no further details on this.

The road re-opened to all traffic shortly before 10:00GMT.
Nearby Doctors Surgery, the Peel Medical Practice also took to Facebook to remind its patients to allow extra time if travelling for appointments.
