Chainsaw used by police in hunt for drugs

Friday, 16th November 2018

A CHAINSAW has been used by police officers to cut through a reinforced and braced door at a Tamworth property in their fight against illegal drugs.

Yesterday morning, Thursday 15 November, officers from Tamworth, supported by the CID Priorities Team and the Tactical Support Team forced their way into a property in Amington to enable them to search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A number of drugs were recovered and a female occupant was processed by officers, in relation to the offence.

In the video below, you can see the officers use the specialist equipment (and a foot!) to gain entry to the property.

You can report information about crime by contacting the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
