CCTV released after attempted knife point robbery

Police investigating an attempted robbery at a store in Nuneaton on Wednesday 8 April have released CCTV images.

The incident happened at the R&R supermarket in Church Road at around 8.40pm.

A man was seen hanging around outside the shop waiting for customers to leave. He then barged in, threatened the female assistant with a knife and demanded money. He was disturbed by another man coming into the shop, and left empty handed removing his balaclava as he went.

No one was injured during the incident.

The offender is described as a white man with fair hair, 5 foot 8 tall and wearing black clothing, including a balaclava, one black glove and one in a lighter colour.

He was carrying a knife which was about 6-8″ long with a jagged blade with holes in it.

Police are eager to speak to the man in the images as they believe he may be able to assist with inquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 362 of Wednesday 8 April.
