STAFFORDSHIRE Police are appealing for information after a Tamworth resident’s house was broken into and their car was stolen.
Officers were called to Durham Close on the County Drive Estate at Fazeley at around 1:55am yesterday morning (21 January) after offenders forced entry to the property and stole a set of car keys.
They then used the keys to steal an Audi A3.
A black hatchback, possibly a VW Golf, was spotted in the area prior to the incident and detectives are keen to track it down.
Chief Inspector Ash Farrington, commander for the Tamworth neighbourhood policing team, said: “We take incidents of this nature very seriously and we are working hard to track down those responsible. A full investigative plan is in place with detectives exploring a number of evidential opportunities. In addition, we have implemented a patrol strategy in the area to provide reassurance and help gather intelligence on this and other crimes in the area.”
