Appeal for information following burglary where occupant was attacked with hammer

WARWICKSHIRE Police are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Atherstone that happened at about 3.20 pm on Tuesday 5 February.

Two suspects, believed to be males, initially attacked the victim outside a dwelling in Royal Meadow Drive and then used force to enter, attacking him again with a hammer and causing him to fall to the floor.

He was also struck around the head with a wooden ornament causing injuries. The victim, a male in his late 30s, received a gashed face and severe swelling to his forehead. He was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment and later released. It is believed the offenders were known to him.

The offenders then took his car keys and made off in his car, a silver Ford Focus, which remains outstanding.
