SADLY, the body of a man was discovered in Tamworth Castle Grounds over the weekend - police are not treating it as suspicious.
Emergency services were sent to the Castle Grounds shortly after 0600 BST on Saturday 18 April due to the report of a body.
On arrival at the scene, it became apparent to paramedics that nothing could be done to save the male and he was pronounced dead.
The male has not been named at this time but at Tamworth Informed our thoughts are with his family and friends. We would also ask that you not name the person at this time until we are sure all family have been informed.
Again, we would reiterate that the discovery of the body is not being treated as suspicious.
A report is being prepared for Her Majesty’s Coroner.
Officers from Staffordshire Police, along with an ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service and a Paramedic Officer attended the scene.
