Investigation continues to find Bill Lee from Tamworth

OFFICERS have thanked members of the public for their response so far as missing Bill Lee has been missing for a week.

Bill is described as a white male, 5ft 6” tall, with a slim build and white hair. He was wearing a light-coloured jacket, a beige jumper and trousers.

Bill’s car, a black Ford Fiesta (registration NV54 AON) was found near to stables on Slade Lane in Dosthill on Saturday morning. His dog Daisy, a short-haired Yorkshire terrier, was found safe on a pathway between Slade Lane towards Cliff Lake on Sunday.

Detective Inspector Pete Goodwin, of CID South, who has been leading the investigation, said:

“I am hugely grateful to the public of Tamworth and beyond for all of the information and possible sightings of Bill in the last few days.

“This is one of the largest searches for a missing person that has been conducted in recent years. We have been supported by divers from Nottinghamshire Police, volunteers from Staffordshire Search and Rescue and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter, particularly around the lakes, rivers and land near to Dosthill.

“Anyone who sees Bill, or has information on his whereabouts, is urged to call police immediately on 999, quoting 755 of 16 April.”
