Arrests made following car thefts

STAFFORDSHIRE Police have arrested four men in connection with car thefts across the south of the county.

The arrests are in relation to a number of offences which took place in Tamworth, Codsall and Walsall over the last month.

A 21-year-old man from Birmingham has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery and an 18-year-old man from Wednesbury has been arrested on suspicion of burglary. They remain in custody.

A 43-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of burglary and a 29-year-old man from Coventry was also arrested on suspicion of burglary. Both have been released under investigation.

Detective Inspector Adrian Webb said: “We have a dedicated team investigating stolen cars across the region but we are continuing to ask vehicle owners to remain vigilant and to report anything suspicious to the police.”
