Arrests for Human Trafficking in Tamworth and Polesworth

TWO arrests have been made today during Police raids in Tamworth and Fazeley as part of a Human Trafficking operation.

Warrants which were granted by Magistrates were executed at 5 locations across Tamworth and Polesworth.

Three locations were on Albert Road in Tamworth Town Centre with a further address being on Fazeley Road at the edge of the Town.

A fifth raid was conducted at an address on The Gullet in Polesworth.

It is understood that one arrest was made in Polesworth and one at one of the locations on Albert Road.

According to Lichfield Live, a Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers executed five warrants this morning after receiving information from concerned members of the public about suspicious activity at several addresses.

“A 32-year-old man was arrested at the Polesworth address and a 32-year-old was arrested at one of the Albert Road addresses on suspicion of human trafficking. They have been taken into custody.

“As a result of today’s activity a man has also been taken into care.”
