Armed robbery at Tamworth Convenience Store

POLICE are appealing to the public for information after an armed robbery at a Tamworth convenience store today, Sunday 18 March.

Police say that at approximately 2:15pm today there was a robbery at McColls newsagents in Ellerbeck, Stonydelph.

Two males have entered the store and demanded money from the till.

The offenders were armed with a wooden handled item that is described as being similar to a wallpaper scraper.

One male is described as as being white, wearing a black scarf with white pattern covering his face, a navy hoody and grey joggers. The other male is described as wearing a black top, navy joggers and black trainers.

No members of staff were hurt in the incident and it is unknown at this time how much money was taken.
