Wednesday, 23rd September 2015

DID you witness anything suspicious in Polesworth this morning?

Warwickshire Police are calling on the public to help them track down two men involved in a burglary at the Bulls Head pub today (Wednesday).

The duo, who had their faces covered and wore dark coloured tops and tracksuit bottoms, forced their way into the premises on Tamworth Road at about 6.30am.

They threatened the occupants with a metal bar and demanded money before running off towards the river.

No one was injured during the incident but the offenders made off with more than £1,000.

Detective Sergeant Carl Buckley said: “We believe this is an isolated incident and we would like to reassure the public that offences like this are very rare.

“We have conducted a number of house-to-house enquiries and are now appealing to the public for their help.

“People would have been driving to work or even walking their dog in the area at the time of the incident and may have seen something which could be vital in our investigation.

“If you think you saw anyone matching the description of the two men or saw anything suspicious, please call us on 101 quoting incident number 35 of 23rd September.”

Information can also be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
