Appeal after Armed Bank Robbery

STAFFORDSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a bank in Tamworth.

Officers were called to Barclays Bank, Middle Entry, at 4.50pm yesterday (Tues).

A male offender, armed with a baseball bat, had entered the bank and threatened staff. He then stole an undisclosed quantity of cash from the till.

Fortunately no members of staff, or customers, were injured.

The baseball bat was recovered a short distance away and will now be subject to forensic examination.

The offender is described as white, very slim, approximately 5ft 11in tall and in his late 20’s.

He was wearing sports clothing including a navy/grey jacket, navy tracksuit bottoms and a grey hat.
