Ankerside’s Stay & Play to celebrate 1st birthday

Monday, 14th May 2018

THE town’s shopping centre’s monthly playtime event is set to celebrate a milestone birthday, as the children of Tamworth are invited to enjoy party-themed fun and games.

Ankerside Shopping Centre will be marking the first birthday of its monthly Stay & Play on Thursday 31 May, where local little ones will be able to join in the celebrations between 9.30am and 11.30am.

As well as getting families ready for the summer sunshine, children along with parents, grandparents and childminders will also be able to make the most of inflatables, a bubble machine and a visit from Ankerside’s colourful Stay & Play monster.

Jeff Wigley, Ankerside Shopping Centre manager, said Stay & Play has had a brilliant first year at the centre. “During the past year, we’ve had an excellent time hosting our monthly kids’ club and we’ve built some great relationships with families that come along to every session,” he said.

“Since the launch in 2017, we’ve had all sorts of activities taking place for youngsters every month including raising money during The Big Toddle and teaching little ones the importance of staying safe in the sun during Skin Awareness Month as well as celebrating Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter. We’re delighted to invite families of Tamworth to our 1st birthday celebration,” Jeff added.

“Throughout the morning, visitors will be able to make and decorate their very own party hat to join the birthday bash. Plus, Thursday will also be a chance for children to fill in the learning book that they bring along to each session.

“With the success of the past year, we have a great calendar of events planned for the next year of Stay & Play with various themes including storytelling, animals, gardening and Christmas.”

The Stay & Play fun takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am in Druckers Café on the last Thursday of each month and is free for anyone wishing to attend with their youngsters.
