EMERGENCY Services, including an Air Ambulance, descended on the area of the canal at Bonehill Road this afternoon (Thursday), due to a ‘medical emergency’.
Readers of Tamworth Informed had reported to us that they had seen a number of police vehicles, a fire engine and ambulances in the area shortly after 1.00pm.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service has told Tamworth Informed:
“We were called at 1.10pm to Bonehill Road to reports of a medical emergency. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“On arrival, we discovered one male patient in a critical condition. Following specialist trauma care at the scene, the man was transferred to Good Hope Hospital for further assessment.”
At Tamworth Informed, we wish the male a speedy recovery.
