KICK off the build-up to the World Cup in style, with your own personal final every week, as a 6-a-side league in Tamworth opens up for new teams.
Reduced entry is on offer to teams that sign up for the charity football league. It will run throughout the year with no closed season and will take place every Sunday at The Lamb, the home of Tamworth FC. Games cost £30 and happen between the times of 6-8pm.
All standards are catered for with Leisure Leagues Director Tom Nash saying to Tamworth Informed: “Whether you are as efficient as the German team, as unpredictably brilliant as Brazil or a first-time qualifier like Serbia, then all standards are catered for.”
And while the teams in Russia will be competing for the iconic trophy, the players that take part on the brand new surface will be doing so not just for the honour of being the best in Tamworth, but for a range of top prizes including huge custom-made trophies, medals, champagne and other goodies, as Tom joked: “It’s not the Jules Rimet, but it isn’t too far off, we promise!”
Everything is taken care of for the players ensuring world-class service, even if the football might not match.
Profits from the league will be donated to a range of charities and good causes, including Cancer Research UK.
