TAMWORTH and Lichfield Sea Cadets, invite Tamworth Informed readers to support their 24 hour Sponsored Row on Borrowpit Lake to raise much needed funds for their unit.
The Sea Cadets based in Kettlebrook will be conducting their 24 hour Row on Borrowpit Lake, next to The Snowdome on 1st and 2nd of August.
The cadets will crew the boat in rotation to ensure they are on the water for the whole 24hrs and weather permitting other activities will be taking place on the water during the day for Cadets and Juniors to enjoy.
Cadets have worked hard to get sponsorship from family and friends but like most organisations that are reliant on donations to exist, fundraising is a constant challenge.
The unit sees 46 cadets and juniors aged between 10 and 18yrs attend each Tuesday and Thursday and aims to give young people a head start by making friends, have new experiences and to grow in confidence through water based activities all in an environment based on Royal Navy traditions – including rowing, kayaking, windsurfing and powerboating.
Older cadets can even gain qualifications in catering and engineering as well as attending National Training courses.
To support this event readers can donate via this link to BT MyDonate 24hr Row or if you are a business who would wish to sponsor this event please email firstname.lastname@example.org Every little really will help us to reach our target of £2000 and be gratefully received.
All Cadets and Staff work extremely hard and are immensely proud of what the unit has achieved for young people in Tamworth – Please support us to continue.
