Stay & Play returns for charity’s sponsored children’s walk

ANKERSIDE Shopping Centre’s monthly Stay & Play morning will be returning to Tamworth next week to fundraise for the UK’s largest children’s charity.

On Thursday, 29 June, little ones and their mums, dads and grandparents will be able to take part in Ankerside’s Big Toddle to help raise money with free crafts, games and a sponsored stroll around the centre.

Barnardo’s annual event, The Big Toddle, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, is known as the UK’s most colourful event for toddlers and, with the funds raised, helps to provide brighter futures for families across the country.

“We have had a great response to Stay & Play since the launch in April and we are looking forward to bringing The Big Toddle to Ankerside next Thursday,” said Jeff Wigley, Ankerside Shopping Centre Manager.

“Between 9.30am and 11.30am, we’re asking families to come along in their brightest clothing to enjoy fundraising for Barnardo’s with colourful crafts, exciting games and our very own toddle around Ankerside to encourage our shoppers to donate too.

“Little ones will also be able to bring along their Stay & Play learning books to fill out as part of the charity morning,” Jeff added.

The Stay & Play fun takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am in Druckers Café on the last Thursday of each month and is free for anyone looking after children to attend with their little ones.
