THERE are now less than two weeks left for Tamworth residents, businesses and voluntary groups to have their say on how the borough council spends its money.
Each year, Tamworth Borough Council invites people to take part in the Budget Consultation by giving their views on where – and how – resources should be allocated.
Whether you think more needs to be spent on tackling anti-social behaviour, providing more events, keeping the town clean and green, supporting the town centre or improving housing, this is your chance to get involved and help shape spending across the borough.
But you need to hurry as the consultation closes on Friday September 15.
The idea behind getting people involved is to make sure we know what is important to residents, businesses and voluntary groups so that where possible, we can set our priorities in line with what local people want.
By getting involved, you can play a role in helping us to form our spending priorities for the coming year.
Tamworth Borough Council Deputy Leader, Cllr Rob Pritchard, said: “There’s still time for you to tell us how you would prefer the council budgets to be balanced; spending reductions or Council Tax increases? We would be interested to know people’s views and invite anyone who is interested to take part in the consultation so that we can capture those views. We hope people will have their say before the consultation ends.”
Consultation questionnaires are available on the Tamworth Borough Council website at www.tamworth.gov.uk/consultation
At the end of the consultation, which started on August 1, all the responses will go before the council’s Cabinet for consideration.
