Tragic death follows Amington knife attack

SADLY the man who was stabbed in Amington on Friday 8 September has passed away in Hospital.

We have learned from a source close to the family that he sadly died earlier today, Sunday 10 September at Hospital.

The male has been named locally as Tamworth man, Dan Wyatt as the news has spread across Facebook.

Tamworth Informed would like to pass their condolences to his family and friends.

Officers confirmed yesterday (Saturday) that they have arrested a 27-year old man in relation to the assault.

A Spokesperson for the force has however said: “We would still urge anyone who may have any information to this incident to please phone 101 quoting incident number 955 of 8 September.”

Emergency services descended on Sorrel in Amington at around 11pm on Friday 8 September due to reports of a serious assault.

Detectives investigating the incident are turning to the public for help from anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police has said about the incident: “An ambulance was called to the area at around 11pm on Friday 8 September to attend to a man who had received multiple stab wounds.

“We would urge anyone with any information to call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 955 of 8 September.”
