Garage fire treated as Arson

fire station

A GARAGE fire in Tamworth is being treated as Arson as it is believed the fire was started deliberately.

The fire on Thursday night was in a garage in Freville Close and was reported at around 1125pm.

Fortunately the garage was built with concrete and so its structure remained, but the contents were destroyed.

Fire crews from Tamworth and Polesworth were dispatched to the scene.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service told Tamworth Informed: “We were called to a report of a fire in a garage in Freville Close, Tamworth, at around 11.25pm on Thursday June 8.

“The garage was constructed from concrete but the contents were alight.

“Crews wore two breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

“It is believed the fire was started deliberately and colleagues from Staffordshire Police are aware.”
