POLICE in Tamworth have revealed that a body has been discovered in a Belgrave park.

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to Ninefoot Park, off Ninefoot Lane, on Monday 4 July.  Police had received reports that a body had been discovered in an area of trees, just after 230pm.

The discovery of the body was made in an area which is popular with dog walkers and children playing sports. The discovery is not being treated as suspicious.

The body was that of a man who is believed to be in his early thirties. His name has not been released at this time.

The spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told a local newspaper, the Tamworth Herald: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

Tamworth Informed ask that anyone who knows the identity of this male, does not name him at this time. We would also ask that the circumstances around his death are not discussed on our page.

Our thoughts are with all persons involved in the incident at what will be a difficult time.

This is in addition to the body of John Broughton which was discovered on the same day.
